Pickleball Coming to Manassas Mall

Pickleball fans, you will be able to play indoors on six courts by early next year.

By Rachel Schlueter July 26, 2023 at 8:46 am

Dill Dinkers Pickleball plans to open six regulation-sized indoor courts at Manassas Mall in early 2024. The location will be Prince William’s first indoor pickleball facility.

The 16,485-square-foot space at 8300 Sudley Rd. will house fenced courts, a pro shop, a ball machine, and private event space.

Dill Dinkers Pickleball will provide clinics, lessons, and leagues for amateur and experienced players. Dill Dinkers partners with JOOLA pickleball in Rockville, Maryland, and the DC Pickleball Team, which is part of Major League Pickleball.

This is the first Virginia location for Dill Dinkers, but the fifth DMV location for the company. The other four facilities are located in Maryland. Once the Manassas location opens its doors, Dill Dinkers will have 50 pickleball courts in the DMV.

“We’re proud to have our own dedicated indoor pickleball facility right here in Prince William County, thanks to the Dill Dinkers Pickleball team,” Prince William County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Robert Sweeney says in a news release. “They have the experience and management team to deliver a best-in-class experience.”

Dill Dinkers Pickleball opened its first location in November 2022 in Columbia, Maryland. Founders Will and Denise Richards started the business after falling in love with the sport during the summer of 2021. But by late fall, the weather prevented them from playing outdoors. The couple had trouble finding an indoor court, so they decided to create their own.

“Opening these facilities is our way to share our love of pickleball with the community and offer a place to play year-round,” Denise Richards said. “We aspire to create an atmosphere that inspires fun, learning, healthy competition, and lifelong friendships.”
