Refresh Your Spring Wardrobe at These NoVA Consignment Shops

Out with the old and in with the new (to you).

By Maggie Roth March 8, 2024 at 1:06 pm

Everyone’s wardrobe needs a little sprucing up from time to time, and consignment shops are a great way to do it. You can clear out the clothes you’re just not loving anymore and go home with a great find, whether that’s a new wardrobe staple or a flashy designer accessory to splurge on.

Just remember that if you’re looking to sell items, it’s important to check the store’s policies ahead of time. You may need an appointment to have your items appraised, and the store may have guidelines for the brands, styles, and age of items they’ll accept.

N’Used

This Herndon shop, run by a longtime Reston resident, was named the best adult consignment shop in the area in Northern Virginia Magazine’s 2023 Best of NoVA poll. It has stylish pieces from an array of brands, ranging from affordable finds to investment designer pieces. The store offers a 60-40 split for consignors (meaning 40 percent of the price goes to you if your item sells) with a 90-day selling period. 284 Sunset Park Dr., Herndon

Wardrobe Rescue Consignment

Ready to treat yourself to a luxury bag, designer dress, or a great pair of heels? Stop into this Church Street consignment shop to browse the selection of designer accessories, shoes, and clothing. Its list of brands accepted ranges from everyday styles like Ann Taylor and Lululemon to splurge-worthy Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Ferragamo. Items are sold at a 50-50 split for consignors with a 60-day selling period. 134 Church St. NW, Vienna

New to You

The finds here are carefully selected for style and condition, with a focus on designer brands like Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, and Valentino. The shop primarily accepts items purchased in the past two to three years, with exceptions only for some designer labels. 108 W. Broad St., Falls Church

Blossom and Buds

You’ll find new-to-you clothing and accessories for women and kids (plus toys for the little ones) at this shop. Instead of designer labels, it has a focus on more affordable — but still stylish — brands like Lilly Pulitzer, Madewell, and Anthropologie. Consigned items are sold at a 50-50 split with a 90-day selling period. 5906 Washington Blvd., Arlington

Mint Condition

Find your new favorite outfit at this Old Town Alexandria shop. It’s stocked with in-season designer clothing, purses, shoes, and jewelry, all carefully selected. Items are only accepted if they’re two years old or newer and in good condition. The shop shares a location with kids’ consignment store 529 Kids Consign, making it easy to shop for the whole family. The store offers a 50-50 split for consignors, and items are stocked for 90 days. 122-A S. Royal St., Alexandria

Current Boutique

With three locations and an online shop, you’re sure to find something that will brighten up your wardrobe. There’s a large inventory of clothing and accessories, in an array of brands including Tory Burch and Marc Jacobs. Items are sold at a 50-50 split for consignors, with a 90-day period. The store does not return unsold items. Multiple area locations
