Harpers Ferry Brewing Opens a Pop-Up Ice Skating Rink

The rink at the Purcellville brewery includes amazing winter views of the Potomac River.

Harpers Ferry Brewing isn’t just for thirst-quenching brews anymore. The Purcellville brewery has turned into a winter destination with the December 13 opening of its new ice-skating pop-up.

Skaters can enjoy river views and eye-catching twinkling lights at the new synthetic rink. The pop-up venue is open Thursdays through Sundays from noon to 8 p.m. for skaters ages 4 and older. Each session includes an hour and a half of ice time.

The rink has a capacity of 40 skaters per session, so you won’t have to worry about overcrowding during popular time slots. After your session, enjoy hot cocoa and chili from the food truck or head off to the brewery for a refreshing beer.

Ice skating season lasts until mid-March. Private skate sessions will be available daily from 10 a.m. to noon. Walk-ins are welcome, but the brewery recommends making a reservation during weekends.

Skate passes are $15 for ages 12 and older and skate rentals are $5. Tickets for ages 4 to 11 are $12, with skate rentals at $3. Guests can also use their own skates, and balance aids will be available to rent.
