Find the Perfect Holiday Pet Gifts at These 6 Northern Virginia Shops

Your furry best friend deserves a present this holiday season, too.

By Kate Oczypok December 4, 2025 at 7:00 am

Don’t forget to add your pet for your holiday gift list. These local shops and boutiques have all the treats, toys, and accessories they could ever want.

Happy Hound

Happy Hound in Landsdowne Town Center carries treats and toys from businesses like Bocce’s Bakery, Stella & Chewy’s, and Kong, to name a few. If you have a dog in need of a snazzy new collar for their next dog park appearance, or perhaps new outdoor gear for your next hike, Happy Hound carries a selection of unique items. Owners Laura and Ross used their own dog, Remington, as the inspiration behind their logo. 19352 Promenade Dr., Landsdowne

Dogma Gourmet Bakery & Boutique

Dogma, which has locations in Shirlington and Clarendon, carries treats, snacks, accessories, and toys for both dogs and cats. They rotate their items regularly and often carry seasonal items. Humans will also enjoy browsing the selection of products for animal lovers that are often in store. If you want to go all out for the holidays, Dogma Bakery can create personalized cakes for your pet made with ingredients like apple sauce, peanut butter, and honey (a five-day notice is required for Big Bone Cakes and three days for mini cakes). 2772 S. Arlington Mill Dr., Arlington; 2509 Franklin Rd., Arlington

Sassy Woof and Sassy Meow

Outfit your dog or cat in all the latest harnesses, bow ties, bows, bandanas, and more in this fashion-forward Sterling pet shop. Check off everything on their list for Santa Paws, including matching human and animal sweatshirts and bandanas that read “My Dog is My BFF.” Cats can cuddle up in Sassy Meow’s soft blankets featuring holiday Disney characters or gingerbread cookies and coffee mugs. Founder Christine started the shop after being inspired by her two dachshunds, Maya and Winston. 21620 Ridgetop Cir., Ste. 110, Sterling

Tilley’s Pet Supplies

Tilley’s in Middleburg carries pet apparel, collars, leashes, harnesses, and of course plenty of toys for your dog or cat. If a new bed is on their holiday wish list, the store carries brands like Vital Essentials, Northwest Naturals, and Dr. Marty’s. They’ve also got plenty of bones and chews. The store also has a Georgetown location in DC. 5b East Washington St., Middleburg; 3216 O St. NW, Washington, DC

The Dog Store

The Dog Store in Del Ray began with a daycare and boarding facility that also offered grooming, training, walks, and socialization. The shop has accessories, apparel, collars, and leashes. Dogs will be delighted to learn that a “barkery” on the premises offers sweet treats like Christmas tree shaped cookies. There’s also a chew bar with chews, bones, and antlers. The store just opened a second location in the Belle View Shopping Center. 2301 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria; 1612 Belle View Blvd., Alexandria

Great Dogs of Great Falls

Great Dogs of Great Falls began when a former Bloomingdale’s merchandising manager left the corporate world and started helping part-time alongside the store’s original founder. It sells treats and toys from popular brands like Chuckit, The Lazy Dog Cookie Company, Fluff & Tuff, and others. 9859 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls
