A New Toys R Us Is Now Open for DMV Shoppers

Holiday shoppers have a new brick-and-mortar store option for kids’ gifts.

An iconic toy brand has opened a new DMV store just in time for the holidays. Toys R Us announced it is opening 10 new flagship stores and 20 seasonal holiday shops by the end of the year. And that includes a location in Arundel Mills in Hanover, Maryland.

The new flagship stores officially opened its doors on Wednesday, November 26. The 7,000-square-foot space is located across from T.J. Maxx.

Toys R Us filed for bankruptcy in 2017. It was liquidated and sold, and its new parent company, WHP Global, has been reopening stores. According to a news release, “the brand is celebrating its largest growth year yet, now spanning more than 1,500 stores and e-commerce businesses across 35+ countries.”

“From new store openings with our global partners, to the launch of our second Global Holiday Play Day serving as the runway to the season … Toys”R”Us is creating joy and excitement for kids of all ages everywhere,” said Kimberly Miller, Toys R Us global chief marketing officer.

The brand operates flagship stores in Illinois, Minnesota, and Texas. It also operates stores inside Macy’s and has a location at the Dallas Fort Worth Airport.

In addition to the Arundel Mills store, Toys R Us says new locations are also planned for California, Colorado, Iowa, and Nebraska.
