The show must go on! With the fall season about to start across NoVA and Washington, DC, make sure you stake out which performances are a must-see before the curtain falls at these local playhouses.

Arlington & Alexandria

 

The Little Theatre of Alexandria

Founded in 1934, LTA has definitely put on its fair share of productions. The historic theater company has conducted over 350 shows during its time, and a few with Washington royalty in attendance including former presidents Harry Truman and George W. Bush and Lynda Bird. 600 Wolfe St., Alexandria

Signature Theatre

This Tony Award winning theater isn’t your average playhouse. Producing more lesser-known and newer musicals and plays, you’ll definitely enjoy shows before they hit the mainstream.   4200 Campbell Ave., Arlington

Synetic Theater

This Arlington stage puts an emphasis on motion when telling their stories, providing a new spin on traditional tales. 1800 S. Bell St., Arlington

Fairfax

 

1st Stage Theater

In between the bustling streets of Tysons lies this professional theater. From a grass roots set up to an award-winning center, you’ll truly appreciate all performances from these local artists. 1524 Spring Hill Rd., Tysons

The Alden Theatre

Located inside the McLean Community Center, this 383-seat venue brings the residents of McLean touring music, comedy, dance, and children’s programming to the masses. 1234 Ingleside Ave., McLean

Capital One Hall

Brand new to the NoVA arts scene is Capital One Hall. With a main theater of 1,600 seats, enjoy a night out at your favorite concert, broadway show, comedy tour, and much more. 7750 Capital One Tower Rd., Tysons

George Mason Center for the Arts

Located on GMU’s campus, this performing arts center is definitely an entertainment staple in Fairfax. Not only do you get the best theatrical performances, but the stage alsos hosts concerts, dancer performances, and comedy shows throughout the school year. 4400 University Dr., Fairfax

NextStop Theater

Formerly known as The Elden Street Players, this community stage constantly brings laughs, dancing, and joy to its audience. 269 Sunset Park Dr., Herndon

Fauquier, Manassas & Fredericksburg

 

Fauquier Community Theatre

With over four decades of local theater productions, this Warrenton playhouse definitely knows how to entertain. This community theater hosts a variety of shows every year including plays, musicals, and productions for children. 4225 Aiken Dr., Warrenton

Hylton Performing Arts Center

Since opening its doors in 2010, the Hylton Center has been providing the community with jam packed entertainment. With performances from local artists, headliners, and family events you’ll find something for any night of the week. 10960 George Mason Cir., Manassas

Riverside Center for the Performing Arts

Enjoy dinner and a show at this Fredericksburg theater. With over 100 musical and dramatic productions and over 120 children’s productions, you are sure to find a show everyone will like.  95 Riverside Pkwy., Fredericksburg

Washington, DC

 

John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

The biggest names and shows from broadway, comedy, hip hop, and more make their way to the historic Kennedy Center. Just make the drive to DC for the best Tony and Grammy Award-winning performances right in your backyard. 2700 F St. NW, Washington, DC

The National Theatre

The Warner Theatre
