ARLINGTON/ALEXANDRIA

Animal Welfare League of Arlington

Animal Welfare League of Alexandria

Homeward Trails Animal Rescue
Seek to find permanent adoptive homes for dogs and cats in the Mid-Atlantic Region from high-kill shelters or whose owners can no longer care for them. // PO Box 100968, Arlington; 703-249-5066

Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation
The Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation has taken in more than 28,000 homeless pets since its inception in 2001. Lucky Dog Animal Rescue
Most of the rescued cats and dogs that come through Lucky Dog Animal Rescue are saved from high-kill shelters in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Puerto Rico. The rescue center saved almost 2,000 animals in 2018. // 5159 Lee Highway, Arlington; 703-237-5327

Washington Humane Society

Fairfax County Animal Shelter

Friends of Homeless Animals

Humane Society of Fairfax County

Wolf Trap Animal Rescue
In almost four years of operation, The Wolf Trap Animal Rescue has rescued over 4,000 animals from euthanasia. Rescued cats and dogs are held in foster homes until their adoption dates. // P.O. Box 2753, Merrifield; 703-638-2531

Bunny Lu Adoptions Inc.

LOUDOUN

Loudoun County Animal Shelter

Humane Society of Loudoun County
Created a partnership with Loudoun County Animal Services and Loudoun Hunger Relief to keep their shelves stocked with pet food for families in need, and have donated thousands of pounds of pet food so far. // P.O. Box 777, Leesburg; 703-777-2912

PRINCE WILLIAM

Prince William County Animal Shelter
Run by the Prince William County Police Department’s Animal Control Bureau, the shelter enforces animal welfare laws, conducts animal education seminars, and houses stray and unwanted animals in a clean and safe environment. // 14807 Bristow Road, Manassas; 703-792-6465

FREDERICKSBURG

Fredericksburg SPCA
