Top Doctors in NoVa
Methodology: Creating our annual Top Doctors list is nearly a year-long endeavor. Here’s how the process works.
We ask for nominations in two ways:
Peer Review: We send surveys to Northern Virginia and DC doctors asking them to recommend other doctors to whom they would refer friends and family.
Hospital Panel: We invite local hospitals to assemble panels comprised of medical directors and other hospital leadership to select physicians to nominate from within their systems. Each panel nominates doctors based on internal criteria.
Our editorial staff then vets the peer nominations and hospital panel selections to come up with the final list.
Although some Top Doctor winners choose to advertise in the magazine, doctors cannot pay to be included on the list. The listing and the advertising sections are separate entities.
