These independent bookstores throughout Northern Virginia have books new and old, spanning countless genres. Spend a few hours browsing their collections, and who knows? You might just find your next favorite book. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friends to Lovers<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This little shop in Alexandria is fully dedicated to all things romance. After a fire destroyed its interior just days after it opened in the fall, the shop is now back open<\/a> in a new location. Old Town Books<\/a> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This bookstore, located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, is small but mighty. It is always sure to have the latest in contemporary fiction, hot-topic political memoirs, best-sellers, and cult favorites that you don’t want to miss. It has several book clubs that you can join. Reston\u2019s Used Books<\/a> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The shelves are absolutely jam-packed with everything from rare editions to well-loved paperbacks. Scrawl Books<\/a> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Scrawl Books, located in Reston Town Center, is as much a community gathering space as it is a place to buy books. It runs a consistent slate of author signings, story times, and trivia nights so people can get together and talk about the books they love. One More Page Books<\/a> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Font Books & Gifts<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This bookstore is just what McLean needed. Owner Amber Taylor previously worked at Arlington’s One More Page Books before venturing off to start her own store. Not only will you find books of all genres on the shelves, but also greeting cards, journaling supplies, stickers, and more. 6262B Old Dominion Dr., McLean<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

McKay Used Books<\/a> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

McKay Used Books is a large store that has been around for over 40 years, and Manassas just wouldn\u2019t be the same without it. It\u2019s about more than just books, too. You can bring in books of all kinds, movies, puzzles, games, and even Legos to sell or trade for store credit. Manaport Shopping Center: 8345 Sudley Rd., Manassas<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Middleburg Books<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The indie shop is located in a building built in 1750 that makes the coziest spot for a bookstore. Browse the shelves and get lost in its selection of fiction, nonfiction, and children’s books. 17 S. Madison St., Middleburg<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riverby Books<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This downtown Fredericksburg shop has a full assortment of used and rare books, including some signed copies. Bring in your used books to sell them for cash or store credit, no appointment necessary. 805 Caroline St., Fredericksburg<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Books and Other Found Things<\/a> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Visiting this store is more like visiting the home of an old friend. It\u2019s located in a historic house right in downtown Leesburg, and each room is bursting with bookshelves full of a lovingly curated collection of used books, trinkets, and an assortment of art from local artisans. Birch Tree Bookstore<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s always something fun going on in this Leesburg bookshop. There\u2019s a roster of several monthly book clubs focused on different genres, including historical fiction, romance, and science fiction.
