Home prices might be starting to lower across the region, but there are still a number of estates still getting top-dollar prices when sold. According to Homes.com, these are the five most expensive houses sold in Northern Virginia this July.
$8.15 million: 7805 Grovemont Dr., McLean
This six-bedroom property offers the lap of luxury without leaving home. With over 10,000 square feet, this McLean home features a gourmet kitchen, an oval office, and a primary suite with walk-in closets and a chromotherapy tub. But it’s the amenities that truly make this house stand out. Head to the lower level to find a private wine-tasting room reminiscent of Spain. There’s also a fully equipped bar and a state-of-the-art fitness facility and sauna. The backyard will make you wish it was summer all year long — with an in-ground pool and expansive outdoor entertainment setup.
$6.45 million: 7064 Young Rd., The Plains
This historic estate will have you dreaming of moving to Hunt Country. This property is perfect for horse aficionados. It’s located on 58 acres that includes stables, indoor and outdoor arena, and fenced fields and paddocks. The manor house, which dates back to the mid-19th century, underwent a major renovation in 2010 but still retained all of its charm. The grounds also include the 1820 guest house and a duplex tenant house.
$5.825 million: 22701 Creighton Farms Dr., Leesburg
Located along the seventh hole of the golf course at Creighton Farms — a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course — is this nearly 14,000-square-foot home. The five-bedroom home will make you feel like you’re living in the English or French countryside. While it’ll be hard to pull yourself away from the panoramic view, the wine cellar, full-size stage, and theater room will be a go-to when you don’t want to hit the links.
$5.5 million: 2224 Crenshaw Rd., Marshall
Rockburn Farm is located on 75 acres of land, ensuring you don’t have to worry about peering neighbors. The seven-bedroom estate was built in 1828 and has since been restored. Outside the 9,860-square-foot home, the landscaping includes a two-story log cabin, two tenant houses, equestrian facilities, and a water garden and pond.
$4.85 million: 2209 Hunter Mill Rd., Vienna
Inside this new build, you’ll find five bedrooms, seven and a half bathrooms, and modern design accents. Every time you enter through the front door, you’ll feel like you’ve entered your own personal resort — from the 24-foot foyer to the two-story office. When the weather gets warm, outdoor entertaining is a must. The backyard has an in-ground heated saltwater pool, elevated covered terraces, and plenty of patio space for lounging and outdoor fun.
