Each summer, Shenandoah Valley Music Festival draws thousands of people from all over the mid-Atlantic region and beyond who come to see some of the biggest names in music perform live in concert. Arlo Guthrie, Bruce Hornsby, America, Kansas, The Beach Boys, and many other iconic artists have performed there in past years. The 2025 season, taking place on select weekends, mid-July through Labor Day weekend, will feature Grand Funk Railroad, The Bacon Brothers, Gaelic Storm, Shenandoah, The Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band, the LSO Big Band, and more.

The festival’s summer concert series takes place at an outdoor pavilion on the grounds of historic Shrine Mont Retreat and Conference Center in Orkney Springs, a small, rural community neatly tucked in the foothills of Great North Mountain in western Shenandoah County. Shrine Mont’s historic architecture, pristine landscaping, and majestic mountain views create a stunning backdrop for each concert, and the venue’s modest size allows for great views of the stage from both the pavilion and lawn seating areas.
Those who want to turn their concert experience into a weekend getaway can get a package deal that offers discounts on concert tickets and overnight stays at Shrine Mont. Guests can make full use of Shrine Mont’s amenities, including an Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis courts, scenic hiking trails, and a dining hall that serves three meals a day, which is also included in the price.

Kicking off SVMF on July 18 is the Motortown All-Stars, performing “The Music and Magic of Motown.” This group, comprised of former members of The Temptations and The Miracles, will showcase impeccable harmonies and dazzling choreography in an electrifying performance that includes all the classic Motown hits of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s.
Next, on July 19, SVMF will present an evening of Celtic music, featuring Gaelic Storm, best known for its appearance in the blockbuster film “Titanic,” and The Screaming Orphans, whose credits include touring as the opening act for Sinead O’Connor and recording as backup vocalists for Peter Gabriel.

On July 25, the legendary rock band Grand Funk Railroad brings its American Band Tour to SVMF, followed by “Swing into Victory,” an evening of swing music by the LSO Big Band on July 26. Comprised of members of the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, the LSO Big Band will pay tribute to the end of World War II, with popular swing tunes from that era. Professional swing dancers will also take to the stage, and the audience will be invited to swing dance the night away on the dance floor next to the pavilion.

The rest of the concert lineup includes:
