Has your child ever envisioned themselves on Shark Tank? Give them a headstart with the annual Fairfax Area High School Student Shark Tank Technology Challenge.
The program is part of the Fairfax 50+ Community Action Plan. Students are challenged to create an innovative device or app that helps the lives of seniors, adults with disabilities, caregivers, or wounded warriors.
According to the contest application, “A winning device should enhance independence and life enjoyment for the target audience, foster social connection and help reduce isolation, and be truly innovative – either by introducing something new to the marketplace or significantly improving an existing product.”
The contest is open to high school students located in Fairfax County, City of Fairfax, and City of Falls Church. The student projects that place will receive a cash award from the contest’s sponsor, IntegrityOne Partners.
Previous winners include Advik Atyam, David Nam, Nathan Kim, and Yousif Al Atbi from Fairfax High School for their development of ScamCops. And Varsha Ayala and Eesha Viswanathan from The Madeira School for Rapidx.
Initial proposals for the third annual Shark Tank Technology Challenge are due on Friday, December 19. The full project is due by February 25, 2026. Those selected to present their projects will be able to pitch their innovations to the panel of judges in April.
