Paint Pumpkins and Pet Alpacas at This Maryland Farm’s Fall Festival

Black Barn Alpacas’ Fall “Ag’tivities” include animals, games, and photo ops.

If you’re looking for a memorable fall family activity, we’ve got you covered. Black Barn Alpacas, a 50-acre ranch in Carroll County, Maryland, is hosting its Fall “Ag’tivities” from October 3 through November 2. Your ticket includes games, hayrides, pumpkins, and best of all, adorable alpacas.

The ranch is home to nearly 150 show-quality alpacas, which the owners say are bred “through sustainable and caring farming practices.” And guests get to meet, pet, hand-feed, and learn about the lovable herd.

The fall festival also includes special sensory areas for kids, like bins where they can dig, scoop, and play in dried corn. At the Kiddie Corral, families can enjoy classic farm games like pumpkin bowling, cattle roping, and corn hole. Every paid admission includes a locally grown pumpkin and complimentary pumpkin painting.
