Visit a Winter Wonderland of Parade Floats in the Shenandoah Valley

Quicksburg’s American Celebration on Parade is going all out for the holidays.

By Maggie Roth December 4, 2025 at 9:43 am

For many, parades are a beloved tradition to beckon in the holiday season. So it’s fitting that a new holiday event in the Shenandoah Valley will celebrate the history and grandeur of that tradition by hosting a winter wonderland surrounded by dazzling parade floats.

American Celebration on Parade in Quicksburg displays floats and props from some of the country’s biggest parades. Visitors can see artifacts from events like the Tournament of Roses Parade, inaugural parades, and the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Parade.

Those artifacts are typically on display from Memorial Day through Labor Day. But this year, ACP is extending its season for a special holiday event. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through December, ACP will host Christmas at the Celebration, inviting guests to enjoy the holiday season among the displays. The event runs from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Christmas at the Celebration will include themed areas like a winter wonderland and a zone full of oversized toys. There will also be a replica of the National Christmas Tree, featuring several ornaments from the actual tree. The tree display will be accompanied by a short documentary about the National Christmas Tree.

The family-friendly event will let kids shop for gifts for family members for only 25 cents each. They can also write and mail letters to Santa and meet Santa daily from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Other festivities include appearances from local high school music departments from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Doughnuts and coffee will be for sale from the Shenandoah Valley Reserve on December 12 and 14.
