A new Dollar Tree store has opened at 10700 Fairfax Blvd., Fairfax, next to Panera Bread in the Shops at Fairfax. The store takes over the space formerly occupied by Party City, which closed recently amid a nationwide bankruptcy and liquidation.
As part of the proceedings, Dollar Tree successfully bid on 148 of the Party City’s former leases, through a bankruptcy auction approved in February 2025, according to Supermarket News.
This is the fourth Dollar Tree in Fairfax, joining existing locations on Main Street, James Swart Circle, and Route 29. In all, there are 267 in Virginia.
The new store is listed online as currently open, and Fairfax City Patch reported that it has a “Grand Opening” banner and hiring notices for sales associates. A flyer outside includes a QR code linking to the brand’s career site, where applicants can apply for jobs at the new store and other existing locations.
Dollar Tree — part of the Fortune 200 company that also operates Family Dollar and Dollar Tree Canada — operates about 16,500 stores across 48 states and five Canadian provinces.
The new Fairfax City location highlights the retailer’s continued growth and gives residents another option for budget-friendly household goods and essentials.
