Ned’s New England Deck, a seafood-focused restaurant in Fairfax known for its lobster rolls, has opened a new indoor play space above the restaurant. It began a soft opening stage on Monday, November 10.
The new space is called Play Date Social at Ned’s Nest. It offers a “dedicated family-friendly dining room paired with an indoor play space.” The play space is available for kids ages 6 years and under.
The upstairs area includes a full-service dining room, where guests can order from Ned’s full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. And just steps away, there’s a kid-friendly area with toys and other play equipment.

“It’s not an indoor playground and not just a restaurant — it’s a hybrid concept designed for modern DMV families,” owner Steve Forbes said in an email.
Hour-long play sessions are available to book online, while tables in the area operate on a first-come, first-served basis. A $7 fee is charged per child for a one-hour session.
