Northern Virginia’s dining landscape is buzzing with a new wave of new restaurant openings. Whether you’re craving empanadas in Reston, kolaches in Ashburn, or an elevated burger in Herndon, here are the newest restaurants to put on your must-try list.

Arlington

Neko Panchi Sushi’s menu lets you build your own small bites — bao buns, sushi “sandwiches,” and hand rolls with proteins like soft-shell crab, shrimp tempura, or karaage chicken — plus vegetables, sauces, and mix-and-match toppings. You’ll also find signature rolls, small Japanese street-food bites, and classic sushi in a laid-back food hall setting. 1700 N. Moore St., Arlington
